Hi, good day. I'm new to Aximmetry! I'm using Aximmetry Professional DE.
Does anybody know how I can do the matte composite in Aximmetry?
Here is my current system workflow: Blackmagic Ultimatte 12 4K to do the key and output the fill and combined matte to Blackmagic UltraStudio 4K Mini and take the video feed into the Aximmetry, but the video doesn't output an alpha channel! So it comes with the black background!
Does anybody know? Please kindly help me! Thank you. I really appreciated it!

Hi,
If you want to use the two outputs (fill and key/matte) within one of the camera compounds, use the External Keyer option in the KEYER module, rather than the Masker module in the Flow Editor. You can find more information about using the External Keyer here: https://aximmetry.com/learn/virtual-production-workflow/green-screen-production/keying/using-aximmetry-with-an-external-keyer/#introduction
Warmest regards,
Hi, thank you for the information! At the moment I got confused using the Ultimatte with UltraStudio; the UltraStudio only has SDI A & B output. That means I can't get Fill & Matte from Ultimatte! Now I've switched to using the DeckLink 8K Pro instead. But when I sent the Fill & Matte as an external keyer! In the startup configuration, input 1 as "Fill" and input 2 as "Matte," but on each input view, I saw only the matte preview video, which is black and white. But for fill, it's shown only a black screen preview. Is it normal for external fill input, or is my setup wrong?
Check that you’re using the correct outputs from the Ultimatte. The Fill & Matte signals aren’t a special signal time. They’re just like any other video signal. This used to be different in earlier versions of the Ultimatte, but any special SDi key&fill signal types have been omitted since Blackmagic took over.
The fill and key from the Ultimatte can’t be carried on a single SDI cable, you need two outputs from the Ultimatte and two inputs on your capture card. This doesn’t have anything to do with Aximmetry, its just a limitation of how SDI and the Ultimatte works. If you do get the key and fill into Aximmetry, you can combine them using a Masker module.
